How soccer tournaments usually run
Most youth and adult soccer tournaments start with group play: teams play everyone in their group, with three points for a win and one for a draw. The top teams move into knockout rounds, and many events guarantee every team three or four games.
Small-sided formats like 5v5 and 7v7 use shorter games on smaller fields, so several games run at once. Knockout games that end level are usually decided by extra time or penalty kicks, depending on the event's rules.
Formats you can run
Group games and brackets use the same registration, payments and live page.
- Group games, then a single elimination knockout bracket.
- Double elimination for smaller events that want more games.
- Gold and silver knockouts, or a consolation bracket, using custom brackets.
Fields and kickoff times
Name your fields the way your complex does, and every game shows its field and kickoff time on each player's phone. Families follow the live page without an account.
When the weather turns, run auto-assign again for the games that haven't started, and send one announcement to every team by email, or by text and push on plans that include them.
