How cornhole tournaments usually run
Most bar, brewery and fundraiser tournaments are doubles, either bring-your-own-partner or blind draw, where single players are paired up at check-in. Games are played to 21 with cancellation scoring, and double elimination is the favorite format because every team is guaranteed at least two games.
Bigger events add a few round robin games first, then seed the bracket from the results. Many also run separate competitive and social divisions so new players get a fair shot.
Formats you can run
Every format uses the same sign-up, payments and live page.
- Straight double elimination, the classic cornhole bracket.
- Single elimination for a quick night.
- Round robin games first, then a bracket seeded from the standings.
- A second-chance bracket: a custom bracket lets you choose which teams play in it.
Running the night
Every game has a board and a time, so teams know where to go without asking. Scores go in from the boards, winners move on in the bracket, and everyone watching the live page sees it happen.
Print the bracket for the wall if you like a paper copy too. When a game runs long, run auto-assign again and the games that haven't started shift to the next open board.
